Linode is rolling out a new virtualization platform (KVM), which is supposed to have significant performance edge over the current one (Xen). They claim it's pretty safe to just upgrade boxes, but that makes me nervous.

Since I recently worked on the estack-provision stuff to make setting up dev environments easier, it seems sensible to estimate the amount of work necessary to spin up a new two-machine cluster on KVM-hosted machines, tick tires, and ultimately cut-over.
